Red Flag

I could not possibly tell you how many of these we saw on Sunday!
Sunday was officially Red Flag Day!

I'd have to say at least 30% of of the roadway between Whitehorse and the US border was either in very bad condition or under construction. Not a very good day for progress as some of the conditions were so bad that we could do nothing more than 15 MPH in some places. Even with an early start, we did not get off the road until after 10pm and that being said this blog will be a short one tonight since we are both very exhausted. Pictures will be posted but you probably will not see the eMail invitation until sometime later in the day.

Oh, BTW we ARE in Alaska and should be at Jeff and Tracy's place around noon on Monday.  Click here for photos.

I am glad to be in Anchorage to spend a few days with Tracy and Jeff, but it is sad to have this adventure come to an end, I am trying to figure out how to take the MH and just take off again, this has been so much fun and Ty fooled me with all the great things he did to make this trip go so smooth, he and I have found our new life, and we will be on the road again as fast as we can get the retirement started and buy an RV, we missed being in it last night. We missed home very little, the grandkids were the things we missed and we will just be taking them with us on some summer trips when we go on the road, we are sure that they will never say are we there yet, never once were we bored and it is the way to go.Thanks to all of you for reading the blog and hopefully you had an adventure through all 5000 miles following along with us. Vic and Steve thanks so much for checking on the house and doing the chores that needed to be done, especially the pink snow in the yard. Mike and Lori we hope that the new home brings you happiness and we can't wait to see it. John thanks for the calls and responses to the blog, and I hope you shared the picture of my new fashion statement with all the people over there, they need to see where you got your sense of fashion from. Chris we are so happy that you followed us for the whole trip and your dad was happy when he saw your responses, hopefully all of you will get to go along sometime. Linda thanks for pulling strings to get the internet access at work and for the calls from OnStar, we wish that you could have come along and hopefully our next Alaska trip we will have company, 6 weeks will probably be the time we will take to see all we missed because of bad weather. Mary as usual you never called us, but it was nice that you said you would, so get the retirement going and hopefully we can all do a trip sometime, not all of us at once though, can't afford that kind of Rig. So now our trip across countryhas ended and we are already planning our next adventure, we can't wait. Large sale will be happening very soon, so get ready to join us again. Karen and Wendy thanks for getting us to the campsite and we will be in touch next time we are cruising through Whitehorse. My biggest thanks goes to Ty, without him none of this would have been possible.
