A few weeks ago, we were joined by some friends for an afternoon in the Pensacola area. Our original plan was to introduce our friends to one of our favorite locations, Ft. Pickens; however, the road to the fort was badly damaged during the hurricane season and will not reopen for another few days. We did manage to have a lunch downtown, buy some great fish and olive oil, drive as far as the closed gates on the road to the fort and have dinner at Flounder's on Pensacola Beach. For any of you who may not be aware, Deb and I have been managing an RV Park in Alabama since September, but there will be more about this in a later post.
Yesterday, a good portion of the family enjoyed using the facilities provided by Pocono Mountain Zipline at Whitewater Rafting Adventures near Jim Thorpe, PA. This was a new adventure for most of us, but everyone was determined to do it and we all had a great time as you can probably tell when you click this link to see the photos (the first few are actually some shots along the trail that runs behind John's house).

In September of 2016, after some extensive deliberation, we decided to say goodbye to our Itasca. Between age, miles and consideration of our future plans, we knew it was time for a change. Instead of our RV towing a car, we now have a truck towing a 5th wheel trailer.
In the middle of November, we headed South for the Winter, as usual, stopping first for a month in Alabama. We then headed to Texas where we spent a month in Victoria and celebrated Christmas and the New Year with Mary, Bill and friends Dottie and Larry. We then spent a month in Del Rio, along the border with Mexico before moving on to Sanger, TX.
